‘Day Ones’ is the latest track from South London artist Sabiyha. It’s a celebration of the sisterhood she shares with her childhood friends, who were brought together by the cultural camaraderie of their South Asian and Caribbean backgrounds. “We are all so different, but have this unspoken tie that pulls us all together,” she explains. “Being from a combination of South Asian and Caribbean backgrounds, we were brought together by this pull of cultural comradery. This song is to let them know how much I love and appreciate them and that they’ll always be my ‘Day Ones’”. Sabiyha's unflinching honesty and vulnerability shine through in her songwriting, with this track showcasing unique vocals above a memorable beat.
